This weekend I decided to teach myself how to crochet which has spawned a bit of an obsession and sees me madly stitching on the hour journey to work and back each day. I came across these great images of a yarnbombing by Streetcolor based in California who describes her work as a form of graffiti that isn’t meant to last but wilt ‘like street flowers’. These photos are taken from an installation at Berkeley Public Library which involved 5 people wrapping 10 bicycle loops in 80ft of knitted wool – beautifying the banal for people to stumble across in their daily treks. I know I’d smile if I came across this.
